An afternoon with retired diplomat Helen Hwang
In September 2023, University of St Andrews Business School and the Careers Service welcomed students from the Business School and the School of International Relations to an afternoon lecture and workshop with distinguished alumna and retired diplomat, Helen Hwang.
Helen opened the fully booked session by presenting a lecture, 'A day in the life of a diplomat'. This was followed by a workshop focusing on some of the challenging scenarios which arise during the course of diplomatic service. The afternoon closed with a discussion of the 'top ten tips for your success as a diplomat'.
At the end of the afternoon, students said:
'It was useful and fun, and I really enjoyed that it was very practical and involved audience participation.'
'It was truly an enlightening experience.'
