Professor to deliver keynote speech

17 May 2023

Professor Kirstie Ball is to give the keynote at a two day event, 'Human agency, digital society and data-intensive surveillance'. The conference is being held at the Paris Institute for Advanced Study on Monday 22 May and Tuesday 23 May 2023.

Professor Ball's talk, which will draw upon her 20 years of theoretical and empirical work on surveillance in the workplace, is titled 'Connection spaces: surveilled subjectivity in depth'.

She will also share a symposium session with School of Management alumnus Dr Jorge Campos, on exploring the normative dilemmas of data donation.

The conference aims to consider the field's contemporary challenges and opportunities – for users, policymakers and technology development across societies, traditions and languages.
