Inaugural CRISP online seminar, May 2023

The inaugural online seminar of the Centre for Research into Information, Surveillance and Privacy (CRISP) will be held on Wednesday 17 May 2023.

CRISP will welcome Dr Michelle Spektor, Lecturer on the Science, Technology and Society Program at TUFTS University. Dr Spektor will discuss her work, 'Measuring the nation: eugenics, biometrics, and the proposed British National Anthropometric Survey of 1904'.

The paper presents the survey as an important precursor of contemporary national biometric identification systems.
