Employee surveillance: Risks, wellbeing, and justice

24 March 2023

Professor Kirstie Ball, from the School of Management, will present a University of St Andrews 'Saints Talk' on Tuesday 28 March 2023. She will discuss her research on the topic, Employee surveillance: Risks, wellbeing, and justice.

Professor Ball will examine how to ensure the equitable and just treatment of employees, protect their wellbeing and maintain the boundaries of their work and private lives in the face of intensified workplace surveillance.

When we hear the word 'surveillance' we might be tempted to think about spies, big brother and malign forces watching from afar. In this talk we start with a different idea: that surveillance is part of being modern.

This online event is one in a series of Saints Talks organised by Development at the University of St Andrews as part of their work to strengthen links with graduates and supporters of the University, and is open to all.
