Undergraduate of the Year competition

8 December 2021

Applications for a targetjobs Undergraduate of the Year Award 2022 are open and School of Management undergraduates who apply could be following in the footsteps of previous winners from the School.

Georgina Ashby, BSc (Hons) Management, reached the finals in 2016 and won a placement with Rolls Royce. She said that her studies with the School helped her achieve the prize by giving her the opportunity to develop the skills of making presentations, analysing organisations and using strategy in an organisational setting.

In 2018, Holly Hetherington, MA (Hons) Management, won the Management Undergraduate of the Year Award, and a prize of a ten-week summer placement with Enterprise Rent-A-Car, including a week in the USA.

Holly said this to students who are thinking of applying:

'I have learnt so much from this process. I came into it wanting to gain experience of the graduate recruitment process and came away with so much more! I have gained so much confidence, friends across the country, several new business connections and a hefty glass award, all of which I could never have dreamed of getting when I applied.'

See Holly's blog about the competition and internship.
