Tips from Postgraduate Research Students
Track your skills development journey. You can use the Vitae Researcher Development Framework to do this; ask your supervisors if you can review it with them at different points in the year. You can also use the St Andrews Graduate Attributes portal to log your skills development journey, including workshops you've attended.
Think ahead: What is your PGR degree leading to? What do you need to do alongside your degree to get there? Do you need to be in contact with, for instance, the Careers Service? Are there skills workshops that you need to complete? Keep asking yourself: How are you developing your personal and professional skills alongside your academic and research skills?
