Elisabeth Hamilton was the wife of Colonel James Hamilton [SSNE 293]. He had served the House of Oldenburg from 1656, begining as a corporal in Robert Hamilton's company of Eckstein's cavalry and rose to the rank of Colonel. Elisabeth sought travel expenses on 12 May 1678 to return to her native country of England after her husband's death. It is unknown what her maiden name was.
