Thomas Lyndsay received a royal commission from King Frederik of Denmark-Norway in November 1657 to build 2 frigates in Norway. He was to be supplied with a suitable building location in Christiania, along with 20 carpenters, amongst which was his son, and all other requisite workmen and materialsNorske Rigsregistranter, vol.12 (1891), p. 109.
