Donat Fife was the second Scot in Sweden to bear that name. He was the son of Donat sr. [SSNE 782] and his wife Karin Borielsdotter in her second marriage. Donat jr. was born on 01/05/1648. He became a goldsmith and burgess of Stockholm. His brother was Carl [SSNE 7279]. He was the nephew of James Fife [SSNE 4779], David Fife [SSNE 708] and possibly of Solomon Fife [SSNE 6679] all burgesses of Stockholm as well. Donat jr. was an alderman of the goldsmith guild in Stockholm and became a burgess in the city on 20 May 1691. He married Maria Insen and with her had three sons: Donat [SSNE 4846], ennobled as Adlerstolpe; Lt. Colonel Christoffer [SSNE 4930], ennobled as Ehrensparre; and Jacob [SSNE] a merchant. Donat was also a cousin of Peter Fife, [SSNE 4780]. It is not yet certain what relationship he had to J. Donat Fife, [SSNE 311], but they were probably cousins. Donat jr died in 1709. The records of the Nikolai Kyrka in Stockholm reveal that numerous children of his were baptised, though it is uncertain how many survived to adulthood.

On 25 May 1690 Donat Feif bought  the expansive property (Huset Penningen och Rosendalerska Palats) known as Aglaurus 1, 2 - Västerlånggatan 4- Mynttorget 4. The building remained in the Feijf family for the remainder of the 1700s.
