Thomas Wind was in Captain Francis Trafford's [SSNE 237] company of Colonel Donald Mackay's [SSNE 93] regiment in Danish-Norwegian service. Apparently these men were largely Welsh. It was disbanded on 27/6/1629. He is probably the same man as the lieutenant Thomas Wind who later appears in Swedish service in 1632, as it was common for those who had survived Danish-Norwegian service to subsequently enter the Swedish army. Part of this regiment participated at the battle of Lutzen in 1632 under the command of Ludovick Leslie
