Professor Joel Harrington, Senior Global Fellow 2026

Professor Joel Harrington, Centennial Professor of History at Vanderbilt University, is visiting St Andrews from April to June 2026 as a Senior Global Fellow. Joel is working on his monograph, The People Eater Book: Anatomy of a Sixteenth-Century Bestseller, which examines the celebrated account by German mercenary Hans Staden of his nine-month captivity among the Tupinambá in Brazil.
