More student success

6 September 2018

The Department is pleased to hear that Amanda Curdt-Christiansen, who recently graduated in the summer of 2018, has been recognised at the Global Undergraduate Awards. Amanda received the award of “Highly Commended” in the Music, Film and Theatre category for an essay she wrote in her final semester for the Asian Cinemas module, entitled 'Hybridity in Singaporean Cinema: Othering the Self through Diaspora and Language Policies in Ilo Ilo and Letters from the South'.

Amanda’s essay has already been recognised by the University, as she won the 2017-2018 Anita Loos Award, which is awarded by the Film Studies Department for the most outstanding undergraduate essay. The Department wishes Amanda well as she next undertakes a Masters in Film and Media Studies at the University of Copenhagen.
