Prof Glyn Davis to take part in Sexuality Summer School roundtable

15 May 2024

This year's Sexuality Summer School - held annually in Manchester - has the theme 'Queer Friendship and Other Intimacies'. As part of the week's programme of events, Prof Glyn Davis will take part in a roundtable on Thursday 30 May, titled 'Queer Friendship and Academic Collaborations'. Also contributing to the discussion will be Prof Richard Dyer and Dr Jaap Kooijman; the event will be chaired by Prof Jackie Stacey.

The roundtable will be, in part, a celebration of The Richard Dyer Reader, which was published by Bloomsbury/BFI in 2023. Glyn, Jaap and Richard will reflect on their experiences of working together on the collection, and the ways in which the project fomented strong ties with a broad network of collaborators and supporters; they will also discuss the place of queer kinship in Dyer's writings.

The discussion will take place in the SALC Graduate School Seminar Room C1.18, Ellen Wilkinson Building, University of Manchester. No booking is required and all are welcome.
