Award for Kirsty Sinclair Dootson's Collaborative Research
Kirsty and her collaborator Zhaoyu Zhu (University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China) have been awarded the Katherine Singer Kovács Essay Award by the Society of Cinema and Media Studies for their article "Did Madame Mao dream in Technicolor? Rethinking Cold War colour cinema through Technicolor's 'Chinese copy'".
The award is given to original works that significantly advance scholarship and thinking in the field either by opening up new lines of inquiry or by consolidating existing ones at a high level of accomplishment.
