Robert Crawford (on research leave until 2020) is working on the second volume of his two-volume biography of T. S. Eliot; volume one, Young Eliot, was published by Jonathan Cape in London and by Farrar, Straus and Giroux in New York in 2015; volume two, Eliot after 'The Waste Land' is contracted for publication by the same publishers in 2022.

In poetry Professor Crawford is working on several collaborations with visual artists. His most recent collections of poems are The Scottish Ambassador (Cape, 2018) and Strath (Easel Press, 2019).

Professor Crawford, who grew up in Lanarkshire before studying and teaching at the universities of Glasgow and Oxford, is Professor of Modern Scottish Literature and Bishop Wardlaw Professor of Poetry. An experienced broadcaster and reviewer, he has published over forty books, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, a Fellow of the British Academy, and a Foreign Member of the Norewegian Academy of Science and Letters.
