Dr Christina Alt, who is working on a two-year research project into nature writing since the 1780s in collaboration with the Universities of Leeds and Sussex, has launched a nationwide survey to determine the UK's favourite nature book.

Funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, in association with the BBC, readers are invited to propose their favourite nature book by entering nominations by midnight on 30 November and sharing on social media using the hashtag #favnaturebook.
