The Monstrous Heart
In his new play ‘The Monstrous Heart’ Oliver Emanuel examines the fine line that divides us from the monstrous. Returning to visit her estranged mother Mag in a log cabin in the wilds of Canada, Beth finds the carcass of a bear on the kitchen table. What follows is a bold, tense, shocking and brutal psychological thriller exploring nature and nurture, reinvention and redemption, forgiveness and fickle fate.
‘The Monstrous Heart’ is directed by Gareth Nichols with actors Charlene Boyd, Christine Entwhistle and Tanya Moodie. Opening at the Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough from the 3rd-19th October, the play runs at the Traverse Theatre from 22nd October until November 2nd.
