Forging the Mermaid

Dr Katie Garner from the School of English has been awarded a Carnegie Trust Research Incentive Grant for her 'Forging the Mermaid' project – which will go towards her new monograph on Deep Romantics: Underwater Worlds and the Literary Imagination.

The Carnegie funding will pay for Katie to visit archives of mermaid material in Scotland and Ireland and to investigate the wealth of literary works and literary forgeries about mermaids.
