Rhiannon Purdie (School of English), Michael Brown (School of History) and Steve Boardman (University of Edinburgh) join Melvyn Bragg to discuss the 14th century epic poem 'The Bruce' by John Barbour, the earliest extant piece of literature in Older Scots and only source of some of the episodes and elements that contribute to Robert the Bruce's reputation even today.
