Successful Thesis Defence: Dr Michele Rinaldi
Congratulations to Dr Michele Rinaldi for defending his PhD thesis entitled "A thermodynamic modelling approach to predict the outcome of carbonaceous fluid metasomatism on Earth and Mars"
His examiners were Dr Andrew Thomson (UCL) and Prof Dick White (Univ. St Andrews). His PhD was supervised by Dr Sami Mikhail and Prof Dimitri Sverjensky (Johns Hopkins Univ.).
The magnificent cake was the creation of PhD student, Helen Innes. It depicts the final stages of a game of chess – Michele's true passion (followed closely by guitars and computer games).
