About us...

Cerberus is Balliol's PPE society, and it exists to provide a forum for discussion of aspects of Philosophy, Politics and Economics which take us beyond the narrow confines of the academic curriculum.

It is run by three undergraduates (the Triarchs), who organise up to four meetings a term. Some of these occasions will be of a social nature, which in Oxford means alcohol. But the standard format has members and others of similar interests gathering to hear and respond to a talk by a visiting speaker. Our tradition is that The Triarchs entertain their speaker beforehand, and anyone who wishes may join them either in the Buttery or at dinner.
