The programme is yet to be completed. But we do have two dates for you:
Wednesday Week 3 (October 25):
Simon Blackburn, Head Honcho at The Other Place, and Britain's premier academic philosopher, returns to Oxford. You can visit his website here. He will be speaking to the title
“Perspectives, Errors, Fictions, Play: Some reflections on Nietzsche”
and is a very good live performer. We think you will enjoy it. The Dangerous Brothers, Will Dangerous, Mike Dangerous, and Neil Dangerous are studying Nietzsche this term and will be in attendance.
Meet at 7 in the Massey Room. Dinner afterwards at the Chiang Mai. Contact The Triarchs to book a place.
Thursday Week 7 (November 23):
Zut alors! Our very own Sudhir Hazareesingh will be talking to us about
Asterix
Precise timings, dining details, etcetera, will be announced as soon as we have them.

The programme is yet to be completed. But we do have three dates for you:
Wednesday Week 6 (February 22):
Sir John Vickers, our very own Drummond Professor of Political Economy, returns to Oxford after a seven year hiatus during which he ran the country. First as Chief Economist at the Bank of England, and then as Director General of the Office of Fair Trading. You can inspect his impressive CV here.
What he will talk about we do not yet know. Looking at his academic range, it could be almost anything. But he has spent five years thinking about competition and regulation, so our guess is that it will be something under that broad umbrella.
Precise timings, dining details, etcetera, will be announced as soon as we have them.
Saturday Week 6 (February 25):
Thomas Pogge has spent more than twenty years at Columbia, thinking about Rawls, Kant and global justice. He has a most distinguished academic record, and is an excellent speaker. His title is:
"Do Rawls's Two Theories of Justice Fit Together?"
His doctorate was supervised by Rawls himself, so you can bet your bottom dollar that Dr. Pogge will have an intimate knowledge of the opus and its problems.
Precise timings, dining details, etcetera, will be announced as soon as we have them.
Thursday Week 7 (March 2):
Stephen Mulhall of New College will be giving a talk on the philosophy in the
Mission: Impossible
movies. We perhaps didn't think that there was any, in which case we are in for a surprise. Here's the trailer.
Precise timings, dining details, etcetera, will be announced as soon as we have them.
