Module description

This module is taught in French and focuses on the mediaeval and early modern roots of French culture. The variety of materials you will be given will help you to extend both your command of the language and your knowledge of French history, society and culture from the Middle Ages to the Age of Enlightenment. Seminars focus on the study of textual and visual documents and of the insights they offer into the period. The module provides a solid foundation for the modules offered at Honours level.
