The Scottish Credit Accumulation and Transfer (SCOTCAT) system allows credits gained in Scotland to be transferred between institutions. The number of credits associated with a module gives an indication of the amount of learning effort required by the learner. Module description

This module examines how anthropological approaches can contribute to an understanding of current global affairs, and how reflection on contemporary issues at stake in the world can contribute to the discipline. The purpose of the module is to provide a forum in which students can learn about theoretical and empirical themes that are at the leading edge of current anthropological research. The content and focus therefore responds dynamically to ongoing developments in anthropology as a discipline and political and economic developments in the world.
