Module description

This module explores a variety of topics in political philosophy that are especially timely today. Because an emphasis is placed on timeliness, the topics addressed in the module may change from year to year, and depending on the judgment of the instructor. A full description of the module content for any given year will be provided in the Philosophy Pre-advising Handbook. The philosophical arguments and authors discussed in the module may be historical or contemporary. Their selection will depend exclusively on whether they engage directly with pressing issues of the day. In its essence, the course is designed to teach students how to use philosophical tools to reflect on the current political moment.
