Module description

The Masterclass is a compulsory, interdisciplinary module designed as an introduction to the study of Central and Eastern Europe, past and present. In addition to a basic grounding in the history of modern and contemporary Central and Eastern Europe (including Russia), the module draws on the expertise of colleagues in International Relations, Film Studies, Modern Languages and Literature, and Art History. The goal is to provide students with an opportunity both to broaden their knowledge through a variety of research methods, and also to identify research questions for themselves, which they may wish to explore in some of the more specialized Optional Modules, or, indeed, build upon as part of their dissertation projects.
