Module description
The Foundation Inorganic & Physical Chemistry module is designed to develop students' existing knowledge and understanding of inorganic and physical chemistry, and mirrors much of the inorganic and physical content of the first year Chemistry degree course at the University of St Andrews. It also provides a useful introduction to many of the chemical concepts which are used in organic & biological chemistry courses.

Intended learning outcomes
- Demonstrate a sound working knowledge of some fundamental concepts in inorganic and physical chemistry
- Use experimental data appropriately to solve problems
- Communicate chemical ideas and explanations effectively, using appropriate combinations of speech, writing, equations, calculations and diagrams
- Demonstrate the capacity to learn independently, and participate actively in tutorials
