Module description

This module focuses on developing the core reading and writing skills required for success in an academic context. Topics, texts and tasks will be closely related to aspects of Business in order to ensure that the development of students' language and skills is set within the context of the academic disciplines that they are most likely to go on to study at undergraduate level. Acquiring strength and confidence in these skills will prepare students for using them in more effective and integrated ways, which will support them in the increased challenge of Researching and Writing for Business 2 in Semester Two and beyond. In addition to core skills, students will also develop a greater understanding of and ability to use a richer and more accurate lexical and grammatical range throughout their written work.
