The Scottish Credit Accumulation and Transfer (SCOTCAT) system allows credits gained in Scotland to be transferred between institutions. The number of credits associated with a module gives an indication of the amount of learning effort required by the learner. European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) credits are half the value of SCOTCAT credits.

Module description

This end of degree project takes the form of a period of supervised research where students will explore a topic in depth. The dissertation will provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate their independent thinking or originality of thought in the establishment of the argument. Students will be asked to produce an extended piece of written work (maximum 15,000 words) based upon research, analysis and interpretation.
