Module description
This core module for the Museums, Heritage and Society programme equips students with foundational knowledge that will be built upon in later optional modules. Students will be introduced to key concepts in both theory and practice. This introductory module will provide a shared conceptual framework within which students can develop their knowledge and critical understanding of practices, principles, theories and debates relating to heritage and museums. Students will consider definitions of 'heritage' and 'museums', governing structures, histories of heritage, and audiences.
