Module description

This module improves students' ability to read Classical Hebrew literature. Three areas of specialization will be emphasized: vocalizing Tiberian Hebrew, translation, and Hebrew syntax.

  • improve their ability to read and translate biblical Hebrew prose more quickly and more accurately, and improve their abilities to pursue exegesis of biblical Hebrew texts by advanced understanding of Hebrew syntax (Discipline Specific and Intellectual Skill)
  • mprove their performance ability to read and translate the primary texts in their original Hebrew, access and evaluate critically the scholarly work of others, and learn to demonstrate your knowledge of the language in the weekly assignments and in the final exam (Transferable Skill).
