Module description

This module offers advanced training in methods of qualitative analysis that facilitate dissertation work and develop transferable skills for future careers. The learning is project/problem based where students gain practical experience working with a range of qualitative data (e.g. archives, media, visual and textual documents as well as interview transcripts). The module provides practical training in a range of analytical and and coding approaches (e.g. discourse analysis, deconstruction, grounded theory). Research data are drawn from a range of areas within Geography and will be used to develop relevant broader theoretical themes relevant to project data.
