The School of Art History and Libraries and Museums invites applications for the Colbert Scholarship Programme.

The scholarship fund was established from the proceeds of a sale of the artist Philip Colbert’s work The Death of Marat and the Birth of the Lobster. Colbert is a leading contemporary British pop artist and University of St Andrews alumnus.

The scholarship is open to January 2027 entry PG Cert offer holders only on the Museums, Heritage and Society online programme. 

Value of award

PGCert (one-year programme only): £1,500 towards tuition fees.

Up to one year

Apply after you have submitted your application for a place at St Andrews. You do not need to wait until you have received an offer of a place before applying for the award.

Information received in the application will be taken into consideration as part of the overall review process, and no information will be taken in isolation. This information will be used solely for scholarship assessment purposes.

In support of your application, you will be asked to upload the following supporting documents:

  • university transcript or transcripts, including interim transcripts for any degrees currently in progress
  • a CV that includes details about your academic background and any prior research experience

In the application form, you will be required to provide a statement describing how the funding will support your ability to undertake and complete the course.
