Sandy

Sandy is the AI chatbot for the University of St Andrews Admissions team. Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, Sandy provides rapid responses to your questions about studying at the University.

From 28th July - 4th August, and 7th-13th August, UCAS places a range of restrictions on universities regarding conditional offer holders and our communications with them.

If you are a UCAS conditional offer holder, please feel free to use Sandy. However, you cannot infer, from any information that Sandy provides, whether you have or have not been successful in meeting your conditions and gaining a place at the University or otherwise.

For more information about UCAS embargo, please visit the UCAS Confirmation webpage.

Sandy can help with a wide range of questions and topics, including:

  • courses and entry requirements – what you need to apply and what you’ll study
  • the application process – how and when to apply, including UCAS and direct applications
  • fees and funding – tuition costs, scholarships and financial assistance
  • student life – accommodation, societies and what it’s like to live in St Andrews
  • postgraduate and undergraduate study options – including foundation and pathway programmes
  • online teaching and learning – including our online short courses and online postgraduate courses
  • visiting days and events – when you can come and explore the University in-person

To ask Sandy a question, just click on the chat bubble in the bottom right corner of your screen. Sandy will then search our website and official resources to provide you with the best information.
