Course information

These are two, short (6-8 hours), online courses that cover the basics of R coding and statistical concepts, respectively. These provide a good refresher for those who have already done some R coding and basic statistics and want to undertake an advanced course (for example, Statistical Modelling using GLMs).

Aims and objectives

For those unsure about whether to do an introductory or advanced course, these ‘essentials’ courses provide a useful guide. Those unfamiliar with either the code and/or concepts covered in these courses are advised to complete an introductory course (such as the Introduction to Statistics or Statistics for Humanities and Digital Humanities) before undertaking a more advanced course.

These ‘essentials’ courses are also useful to those who are interested in basic concepts but do not want to take further courses.
