Qualifications needed

This course presumes a knowledge of Microsoft Word basic formatting (confident with entering text and applying direct formatting).

Course information

NOTE: These are in-person sessions requiring attendance at the stated venue.

This course will introduce you to powerful techniques in Word to drastically improve both your effectiveness and efficiency at creating and maintaining more complex documents. The use of Styles and other related features are essential for all longer documents and will transform how you work in Word.

Topics include:

  • Understanding styles
  • Using built-in styles and creating custom styles
  • Creating an updatable Table of Contents
  • Captioning and creating Tables of Figures
  • Styles and Navigation
  • Using objects (diagrams, charts, Quick Parts)
