What is a short course?

Our short courses are flexible, fully online learning experiences designed to fit around your life and career. Each course includes approximately 50 hours of study delivered over six to eight weeks, allowing you to learn at your own pace.

Our courses are ideal for:

Once you have completed a short course, you’ll receive a digital certificate and badge from the University of St Andrews, helping showcase your new knowledge and commitment to professional development.

Courses begin four times a year: in January, April, July and October. The next cohort starts on Monday 12 January 2026.
