Text source
Captain Thomas Hamilton was born in Norway in 1664, and was perhaps the son of Robert Thomas Hamilton [SSNE 294], a Scottish soldier in Norwegian service. In 1683, Hamilton joined the Drottning's Livregiment as an NCO. He was commissioned in 1704 in the Skånska dragoons, and served there until he was captured, with the rank of lieutenant in 1709 at Senkowa. He returned to Sweden in 1722 where he retired with a captains pension. The year after his release, Hamilton married Anna Kock. He died in Halmstad in 1740.A.
