Rudolf Bruce was a son of Robert Bruce [SSNE 4347] and Margaretha Muschamp [SSNE 6327]. He served 9 years in the Jonkoping regiment, and was variously a private in 1654, lieutenant in 1655, serving 5 years in Poland and Prussia. He was wounded and captured in 1658 at the seige of Thorn. In 1660 he became captain, was reformed in 1661 and ordered to Varberg in 1662. He was released in 1668. He was ennobled in 1668, 29th of July, along with his brothers Anders and Robert. Rudolf's second wife was (possibly) Christina Sinclair [SSNE 6423] and at least one of their children, Frans Adolf Bruce [SSNE 6067] joined the Kalmar regiment.
