Catherine Baldewin was born in Pomerania of Forfarshire parents. She married the Scottish officer James Montgomerie [SSNE 1632]. He was killed in a duel on horseback by a Walloon in Swedish service before 1634. They had a son Jacob David Montgomerie [SSNE 3132] who was also in Swedish service. Little else is known of her so far, or if she survived her husband as a widow.
