John (Hans) Dunbar was the son of Patrick Dunbar til Spannerup [SSNE 272] and Maren Munck. He served in the Danish-Norwegian army between 1677 and 1685. He was first a lieutenant and then a captain. He died in 1685. John had a sister, Mette Maria Dunbar [SSNE 7841].
