Three Duwall brothers/kinsmen matriculated together at university, Jacob [SSNE 2456], Laurence [SSNE 2465] and Gustav. In the matrical record it states that Gustav was the son of Baron Jacob Duwall of Österbotten [SSNE 1640] and studied with his brothers at Åbo and Uppsala. It goes on to say that he was Lt Colonel in the cavalry by 1706 and retired in 1713. He had a son called Axel [SSNE 3744] who was both a general in the Swedish army and wrote to Scotland to assert his claim to the lands of Mackerston.
