Robert Peterson entered Danish-Norwegian service in 1596 with a commission to build three or four ships. He made a significant contribution to the Danish-Norwegian fleet when he built the 44 gun Victor as a private contractor. The ship became Christian IV's flagship in 1599. Peterson was therafter appointed royal shipbuilder at Bremerholm (the Navy's shipyard) with effect from 12/6/1604, though he appears to have died soon after.
