David Christensen (1607-1658) was the son of the late mayor of Elsinore, Christen Davidsen and his second consort Sophie Knopper. David was admitted to the school of Soro in 1620, matriculated at the University of Copenhagen on 19/1/1625 and later at the Dutch university of Franeker (Faculty of letters) on 4/6/1631. He received his MA from the University of Copenhagen in 1633 after which he was appointed first chaplain of St. Olai, then its curate in 1646. Christensen married Geske Frederiksdatter. With his wife he paid for part of the St Olai choir screen 1652. Their daughters Sophia, Anna, Catherina, Margaretha, Elizabeth and Dorothea contributed to the screen round the font 1656. His widow had her portrait made of which only a copy exists. She lived until 1667 in '3rd fjerding' where she paid taxes.
