ID PhD Research & Travel Fund - Game Developers Conference
Amara Doshi, PhD student in Computer Science and International Relations, attended The Game Developers Conference 2026 from 9 to 13 March in San Francisco.
Amara noted "....the conference brought together developers, studios and technology companies at a pivotal moment for the games industry. As generative artificial intelligence continues to reshape how games are produced, my PhD research explores how developers in the US and UK are anticipating, adopting and challenging these technologies, with a particular focus on how the future of generative AI and game development is being actively shaped in the present. With support from the Interdisciplinary PhD Research and Travel Fund, I was able to attend the conference in person, contributing towards my GDC pass and enabling me to undertake research in this rapidly evolving space...."
