MHS Alumna has article published in Museum International Journal

23 September 2025

The Graduate School for Interdisciplinary Studies is delighted to share that our Museum and Heritage Studies MLitt Alumna, Poppy Young, has had her article, based on her Masters project, titled "Engaging Youth in Culture and Environment: Intergenerational Transmission and Museum Engagement in the Outer Hebrides" published in the prestigious, peer-reviewed Museum International journal.

Poppy also noted a special mention in the article saying "The observations conducted for this paper took place during my time working with the Shared Island Stories between Scotland and the Caribbean: Past, Present and Future’ research project (2022-2027) at the University of St Andrews."

Poppy's placement was funded, in part, by our MHS Placement and Project Fund, which is open to all of our current MHS students who choose placement-based modules GD5603 and GD5604.
