GSIS Community Fund - St Andrews Arts Night

28 May 2025

On the evening of Sunday 27 April 2025, a St Andrews Arts Night was organised by a team of student volunteers from diverse academic backgrounds. The public event, held at St Andrews Botanic Garden, aimed to foster creative expression through various art forms – including meditation, life drawing, live music, exhibitions and film screenings. It served as a great platform to bring together the St Andrews community as the academic year drew to a close.

St Andrews Art Night

Our student Maggie Chung took on full responsibility for curating and executing a temporary exhibition for the Arts Night.

Maggie noted "being a student of the GSIS Museum and Heritage Studies MLitt, I applied my recent learning outcomes to curate my first fully outdoor and site-responsive exhibition. The exhibition, conceptual and experimental in nature, invited visitors to rethink their relationship with the environment and with one another. I am delighted that many visitors, including my MHS classmates, found the exhibition to be resonant.

The event was a success, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the nine student associations or music groups, and the financial support from the university, including the GSIS Community Fund. Thank you!"
