Raisin Monday foam fight 2021 Almost a thousand students took part in the annual Raisin Monday foam fight on 18 October 2021 – the first since 2019 due to Covid restrictions.
COP26 and St Andrews COP26 is a pivotal point in the fight to bring climate change under control. The University is contributing to this in a number of ways.
Energy Ethics 2021: Energy Transitions and Planetary Futures In the lead up to COP26, the Centre for Energy Ethics hosted a virtual conference to reflect on envisioned energy transitions and what they might entail.
Winner of St Andrews Prize for the Environment 2021 Snowchange Cooperative has won the prestigious St Andrews Prize for the Environment for 2021 and the top award of $100,000. Now in its twenty-third year, the Prize recognises global projects and inspirational solutions to environmental challenges. This prestigious award was made possible thanks to the generous support of alumni and friends.
New University podcast launched One Square Mile in North East Fife is the University of St Andrews’ newly launched podcast. In each episode we talk to one of our academics about their research, and why it matters.

SaintsFunder This month’s spotlight falls on the SaintsFunder Support for Afghan Scholars appeal. It aims to support academics and their families or a scholar currently trapped and at risk in Afghanistan, by offering them the opportunity to relocate to St Andrews and re-establish a life here.

Alumni stories This month Sam Shaber reflects how bar-hopping at St Andrews quietly shaped her future as host of the acclaimed IVFU - a podcast about making families the “new fashioned way”.
Congratulations and celebrations! Here’s how some of our alumni celebrated being ranked number one University in the UK last month. Members of the German Association were holding their AGM when they heard the news – so they raised a glass in celebration! Closer to home, Callum MacLeod (MA 1982) played the Gaudeamus on the 27 bell carillon in Holy Trinity Church, St Andrews, broadcasting live on Facebook.
