Why did you choose to study at St Andrews?

The postgraduate programme at St Andrews was a joint degree course. In my opinion, studying comparative literature benefits from studying at different universities in different countries.

What did you most enjoy about your degree programme?

The small classes, close mentoring of my masters thesis, and the opening hours of the library.

What have you been doing since graduating from St Andrews, and what are you doing now?

I enrolled in another postgraduate programme in pedagogy in Jena (Germany) called Education-Culture-Anthropology. Simultaneously, I commenced my doctoral thesis and started working as research assistant at the Institute for Education and Culture in Jena.

Why did you choose this career? What do you enjoy most about your work?

I always wanted to be a researcher and work in academia. I particularly enjoy teaching because I get to share my knowledge and passion and accompany students.

What advice would you give to current and future students?

Be brave and pursue a path that you are excited about. Always pay attention to your (mental) health – no job is worth risking your wellbeing for.
