University of St Andrews logos are available to download as PNG files in colour and single-colour versions, including standard and foundation (1413) logos. Colour logos must not be used in monochrome.

Correct use

The logo identifies the University and must be used consistently and exactly as supplied. Logos must not be altered in any way.

• The University name must always be included.
• The shield must not be used on its own, except in exceptional cases agreed with Print and Design.
• No alternative graphics may appear within the shield or close to the logo.

Logo versions

• Standard vertical: shield with University name below
• Foundation vertical: shield, University name, and “Founded 1413” device
• Standard horizontal: shield with University name to the right
• Foundation horizontal: shield, University name, and “Founded 1413” device

All elements are fixed and must not be modified. Logos are available in colour and single-colour only.

The University name uses the Palatino font.

Minimum sizes

Minimum reproduction heights:

• Standard vertical (colour): 12mm
• Foundation vertical (colour): 18mm
• Standard vertical (single colour): 18mm
• Foundation vertical (single colour): 26mm
• Horizontal (colour): 7mm
• Horizontal (single colour): 13mm

Clear space

Leave clear space around the logo equal to half the height of the crest. No text, images, or graphics should enter this area.
